அரியும் அரனும் ஒருவரே

2344 தாழ்சடையும்நீள்முடியும் ஒள்மழுவும்சக்கரமும் *
சூழரவும்பொன்னாணும் தோன்றுமால் * சூழும்
திரண்டருவிபாயும் திருமலைமேலெந்தைக்கு *
இரண்டுருவுமொன்றாயிசைந்து.

Simple Translation

2344. My father, the god of Thirumālai where waterfalls flow with abundant water has only one form that combines Shivā with his long jata, shining golden mazu, and a snake around his neck and our Thirumāl with a tall crown, a discus, and golden thread.

தாழ் சடையும் — தாழ்ந்த ஜடையும்; நீள் முடியும் — நீண்ட முடியும்; ஒண் மழுவும் — ஒளியுள்ள மழுவும்; சக்கரமும் — சக்கரமும்; சூழ் — இடையில்; அரவும் — சுற்றப்பட்ட ஸர்ப்பமும்; பொன் நாணும் — பொன் அரைநாணும்; இரண்டு — சங்கர நாராயணர்களின் இருவித; உருவும் — வடிவும்; சூழும் திரண்டு — நாற்புறமும் திரள் திரளாக; அருவி பாயும் — அருவிகள் பாயும்; திரு மலை மேல் — திருவேங்கட; எந்தைக்கு — பெருமானுக்கு; ஒன்றாய் — ஒரு வடிவமாக; இசைந்து — பொருந்தி; தோன்றுமால் — தோன்றுகிறது ஆச்சர்யம்!

thāzh sadaiyum — matted locks tied in a lowly way; nīl̤ mudiyum — long divine crown; oṇ mazhuvum — the beautiful weapon mazhu (axe); chakkaramum — divine disc; sūzh aravum — snakes coiling around; pon nāṇum — having golden waist cord; iraṇdu uruvum — these two forms (of ṣankara and nārāyaṇa); sūzhum thiraṇdu aruvi pāyum thirumalai mĕl endhaikku — for my father (emperumān) who is atop thirumalai hills which have streams on all sides; onṛu āy isaindhu thŏnṛum — merge into one; āl — how amaśing is this!
