1147 வாரணங்கொள்இடர்கடிந்தமாலை நீல
மரதகத்தைமழைமுகிலேபோல்வான்தன்னை *
சீரணங்குமறையாளர்நிறைந்த செல்வத்
திருக்கோவலூரதனுள்கண்டேனென்று *
வாரணங்குமுலைமடவார்மங்கைவேந்தன்
வாள்கலியனொலியைந்துமைந்தும்வல்லார் *
காரணங்களால்உலகம்கலந்து அங்குஏத்தக்
கரந்துஎங்கும்பரந்தானைக்காண்பர்தாமே. (2)

vār aṇaṅku mulai maṭavār maṅkai ventaṉ *
vāṭ kaliyaṉ ŏli aintum aintum vallār *
kāraṇaṅkal̤āl ulakam kalantu aṅku ettak *
karantu ĕṅkum parantāṉaik kāṇpar-tāme-10 **

Simple Translation

1147. Kaliyan the king of Thirumangai, with a shining sword and the beloved of his queens, composed pāsurams on the cloud-colored Thirumāl, bright as a blue emerald, who saved Gajendra from his suffering. I saw him in rich Thirukkovalur filled with good, renowned Vediyars, proficient in the Vedās. If devotees learn and recite these ten pāsurams and praise him they will rule this world and will be able to see the omnipresent one.
